I just noticed my windshield was cracked yesterday. It’s just above where the wipers sits. It’s a little over a foot long horizontal with the ends going down. It’s a stress crack.

The dealer checked it out and said he’s seen hundreds of warranty claim windshield cracks but only three he accepted. He did agree that this looks like a stress crack because he couldn’t find any chips.

They took pictures to submit to Ford for approval which will take a few days. Luckily it’s not in the line of sight and drive it.

I couldn’t get focused on the crack but it looks like a white line across the wiper.

I have said this before on this forum. CRAPPY GLASS on Fords in general. I am not sure why but also on my truck top middle mold that looked like a snow flake. Just got that replaced a month ago. My 2013 Ford Fusion had really bad glass too. It looked like a spider web if you look real close.

Sucks that it happened but I'm suprized your insurance wont cover it with glass coverage. That is something I make sure I always have since it will pay for itself the first time.

Your insurance covered it… I have a high deductible..
That's really weird, I had a crack filled and an entire windshield replaced when I lived in California. Didn't pay a dime regardless of my deductible.

Maybe call some other glass places? Kinda sounds like the guy you talked to didn't know what he was doing maybe?

I’m going the warranty route if possible, my deductible is high.. no glass coverage..

Might I ask why such a high deductible? If you get into an accident you end up having to pay that too.....
