Morning All,

I was just curious if any of you had a preference on the best gas for our trucks. Do you have a better station brand than others? Do you guys use the cheapest at the time? Costco? Most expensive? Same brand all the time? Do you feel one place over another has better MPG or just better for the engine?

I enjoy Shell or Costco gas as frequent as I can. Shell here is quite expensive.. usually one of the higher amounts with Chevron, over the typical ARCO, Valero or mom and pop stops.

What you guys use or like???

Top Tier stations have a formula that includes detergents, corrosion inhibitors, and friction reducers, which can extend the life of your car motor.

This article explains more on this. https://mechanicbase.com/cars/which-gas-stations-have-the-best-quality-gas-in-the-us/

How funny is that. Thank you for the article. It seems I like the top2 out to these. Chevron has been getting more scarce around me. Mobil is always huge, and I do enjoy their gas as well.

I do only run 87 in the truck. Don’t find the difference too big enough for the price currently.

I try to stay with the Costco brand because it's cheaper (91 octane) than normal station brands, and it's a Top Tier gasoline. When I can't get to Costco for whatever reason, I'll use QT gas because it is also Top Tier.

Wasn’t trying to open anything .. just with the crazy price of gas currently across the states .. and it “supposedly” dropping soon … just wanted to see what everyone thought. I didn’t want to open which OCT is better .. I just didn’t know during these times what station people preferred.

Didn’t realize asking someone about a preferred gas station caused this fuss. Wow … ?

It's ok...but you did open a "can of worms" type post, and now you will have to live with the consequences and ribbing that come with it...
Enjoy !!! :handsinair:
Also remember, different brands available in different areas...in traveling I have seen some off beat stuff out west that never made it to the east, and vica versa.

I try to stick with the top tier national chains and avoid the dirt stations as well as any stations that have a .$20-.30 per gallon price increase for using a credit card vs cash...
