AC is making a whining sound, goes away when I shut it off. Could this be a problem?

I use the ac a lot here and I've never heard any noises like that from mine. I'd bring it in and have them check it out.

Does it sound like a belt slipping or the compressor whining?

Definitely sounds like the compressor, just wondered if anyone else had noticed this!
