It’s a company website selling motor oil but has some interesting info. Might cause one to tone down those fierce loyalties to a particular brand (mobile 1 for me).

Verrrrry Interesting ! But at $30 or so bucks a quart, I'll stick to Mobile 1 at $22 or $23 bucks for a 5 quart container at Wal Mart !

That is true and I believe it’s most folks fundamental belief that there is NO magical fluid that exists that would enable one go past that 5 to 10k oil change interval. So if you’re going to change it anyway then Mobil 1, Amsoil, Pennzoil or whatever, even though it’s maybe not exactly what you thought it was, is just fine for those intervals.

Just what this forum needs. It's another oil thread. But I'm sure the link will settle this issue once and for all.
Sorry to bother you but just sharing some information that I personally have never read before and thought others might like to read it.

As I have recently learned, anytime someone says anything negative we’re supposed to say “hey man are you doing OK?“

I gave it a quick perusal.

Seems their main point is that synthetic oil is a scam and every refiner sucks except Chevron, who manufacturers their additive.

The website looks like something a sovereign citizen put together in 1992.

I'll stick with "full synthetic" @5k. It's worked in my boosted vehicles for a couple decades now.

Let's see....
6 quarts of "their" stuff at around $30 a quart.....$180.00
5 quart jug at Wally World, plus an extra quart....$30.00
DUUUHHH !

As any company would do yes they’re going to try to take a dump on all the other companies, that’s expected.

I had never heard of the different classes and was not aware that most “synthetic“ oils actually are mostly petroleum. Yes Mobil 1 has been working for myself as well since the early 2000s.

I knew someone would say something about the graphics ?. Took me back to college intro to computer class circa 1995.

It was a good read, it’s always good to get different perspectives. A lot of nanny’s on here. I’m still sticking with full synthetic since $25 isn’t breaking the bank, but it never hurts to get different points of views on things.

You writing articles on the side? Just looks to me like trash anything and everything and buy our magic sauce! SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® Sounds like a porn film to me or some magic sex cream.

Now I’m curious, if even a sliver of this was true don’t you think a whistle blower or more a class action would have come forward by now and blown the lid off of all this? Trillions of dollars since the early 70’s.

One thing is for certain, whatever it is using it (your brand here) does make machinery operate as designed under stressful conditions as long as regular scheduled (recommended) changes are made. Test of time and data proves that statement.

That article is bulls*it!

I'll keep on using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Its base is natural gas.

As already stated yes of course they’re trashing the other brands in order to sell their own “magic sauce“ however, if you notice they don’t say any of those brands are harmful or even that they don’t basically perform as advertised. They’re just saying they’re not technically 100% synthetic. That is all.

This is from the Internet, it’s reading material. I’m sure our fact checkers will be quick to disprove any inaccuracies.

Yes it made me question mobile 1 for about five minutes, then I remember the nearly 20 years I’ve been using it with no problems at all, so there you go.
