Before changing my intake the intake air temp was about 5-7 degrees above air temp, after changing to an aftermarket intake the temps are now around 30 degrees above air temp. Any thoughts?

Which intake did you install?

You guys can correct me if I'm wrong, but...
Like my old 2009 Ranger the factory air box/system is already a "cold air"system, and looking at my new 2021 it looks like it has a "cold air" box already as the snorkel draws outside air into the system.
The AFE Quantum system picture on their web site looks like it does away with the snorkel, and is just a box with the filter inside.
IF that is the case than you would definitely see a rise in air temps as now the system is a "hot air" system as its just bringing hot air from the engine compartment into the new air box.
If true, than all you have done is waste $$$ on a hot air system.
Not totally familiar with the aftermarket systems available for the new Rangers, but some I have seen have a snorkel that mounts in the same position as the OE stuff. Looks like the AFE does away with it.

TV Advertising is a Bitch …stock air intake is Dyno tuned to this motor….cold air intake might help as well as a BOV with a Bigger turbo… remember ambient HP gain depends
on ambient temperature and Humidity…we can throw Barometric pressure into the mix …

There was another thread here lately about the Mishimoto Cold Air Intake, and the picture clearly showed the system has a snorkel system to replace the OE, and it looks even bigger than the OE.
Now that would be a proper Cold Air Intake.

So it appears they reuse the old stock bottom portion of the box for the intake, it still utilizes the stock air intake scoop. However, could you clarify if the CAI is an open design on top? It looks like there is a silicone rubber with a thin thin plastic that goes over the intake. Why did they make this a two piece system with silicone gasket seals you put on yourself and ultra thin that I can see through it like nothing? Perhaps, that "heat shield" really isn't much of a heat shield.

I am interested to see if the AFE intake scoop would decrease temps within the new "CAI", but if it's an open box design on top, it wouldn't even matter as it draws the engine heat into it.

That was my bad on looking at the AFE box...another pic shows a hole for the addition of the factory snorkel.
But still, a 30 degree rise in intake temp...???
