Anyone have pics or a wireframe/parts diagram of bed with plastic bed rail covers off?

I'm wondering what's under there and don't want to rip mine off just to peek. I did an image search and didn't see anything.

It seems to me that drilling into it will more than likely lead into the space between the bed and fender as opposed to leading into the bed itself.

Goal is to try to figure out what I can mount in terms of a kayak rack with my Gator tri-fold hard tonneau cover...

5' bed if that makes any diff...

Also I mounted to the rails by drilling up through the cylindrical pieces of rail plastic for 1/2” bolts. I attached 3x5 aluminum angle to the rail tops for my project.

Attached is a rev of what my project is/was though. (I ended up using 1.5” pipe and rear bar is fixed for now) I’ll try to throw up a proper thread at some point.
