ADV fiberglass install

Yeah. It kind of works as paint protection at the same time. I had 3 of my previous cars wrapped and love it. I dont know if im allowed to post pics of em here. This wrap is pretty unique it changes shades depending on the weather sunny, cloudy, rainy, or freezing.
Edit. I love satin wraps because it shows shades well and shows all the curves which the adv panels have plenty. So should look really nice

Yea I like the fact that it protects the paint, and nice tip on the satin wrap.

I really like the body lines going from the center of the hood to the fiberglass and the adv bedsides have the best body lines of all of the options in my opinion.

How much you paying for a total wrap?

Yeah, say in a few years take the wrap off and you have brand new paint under.

Yep ADV is the thickest ?.

Im only paying 1500 because im doing it through my brothers shop. Hes been showing me love.

How long did your builds take to put the ADV stuff on? If you have little fab experience is it still doable with some brain power?

Mine took me a little bit because i was not pushing it fast. I have another car so i had the ranger sit in the shop and took it easy little by little. Started collecting and choosing what kit, wheels, suspension etc but to install the kit it took me 3-4 evenings after work so 3-4 hrs a day. Then i waited a while for the paint shop to squeeze me in. If youre good with hands on stuff you will kill it without a problem. You have 3 people on the forum to tell you about the mistakes they made so you dont make em ?

2 nights for the bedsides
1 night for the fenders
1 night for the valance

Yea I probably took the longest. I had 0 experience with body work, although my background in machining helps in ways.

For the front I remember spending a couple hours just trying to figure out what exactly needed to be removed for the job. So I started figuring out how to take apart certain things like the bumper for example.

Then the next day a couple hours drilling out the spot welds and just looking at the truck.

This is my only vehicle so I put everything back together when I take stuff apart, and boy I sure did get quicker each time.

Then it took me about 8 hours to remove everything and install the fiberglass completely.

Then I got to the paint shop and removed the fiberglass and drove without it for a few days and when I went back I installed them like nothing.

Same for the rear except a lot more time drilling spot welds and I spent a lot of time removing the bed because just like with the front there wasn't much to go off of, I googled what I could lol.

But if you read this entire thread you will have done enough waxing on and off to battle.

Yea the fiberglass itself was like 1200 plus shipping.

I paid 2k to get everything sanded, primed, and painted. But new shoes are definitely needed with these so at least another 2k. And then a new front bumper and most for the Ranger are 2k each. The stock rear bumper will do for now, I want to put my own tube rear bumper.

I have to mention that I always thought the raptor grill looked cool, but I thought it was a little over hyped and a little overrated. I finally saw one in person last weekend at a 4wp convention and wow oh wow do I need one now to match the aggressive stance the fiberglass gives it.

I honestly like the look of the front bumper with just an aftermarket Skid plate or the smaller tube stuff like westin or so. The fiberglass is definitley on my list after reading through your guys posts. Thanks for sharing btw.

Ahh yes the AFN grill I totally forgot about that one!

I had no intention on getting fiberglass at first so I bought 33's, I ended up installing fiberglass 3 months later so for $20 more per tire I could have had 35's. That was the only time I didn't apply the buy once cry once method with this truck.

yes that's how i like to do things to, currently trying to be real with myself if I need full king 2.5s with adjusters or just get something more reasonable, as most likely doing trails, and roads, and not dessert or super fast off-road stuff. id probably do 33s myself with just getting suspension done and do that for a 6-12 months then do the full fiberglass.
