If you though cars were expensive today just wait and see what happens if this goes against Ford or any other manufacturers. Immediate 10K increase and only going higher.

I just read this on Yahoo regarding the class action lawsuits on the Ford EcoBoost engines. Even though the Ranger wasn't specifically mentioned, it certainly makes me wonder about all of us who have documented fuel dilution in our UOA!

This coolant intrusion issue has at least 2 TSBs out on it for the various affected engines. I do think that Ford should have extended the warranty on the affected engines to at least 10 years/100k miles. The engines were redesigned in 2019, but some 2019s got the old engine.

My 2018 Fusion has the 2.0 which may develop this problem, but so far, so good (3 years old and only 12000 miles, though I did see one report where they had to replace an engine at only 18000 miles). I did buy a warranty so I will be covered since I plan to keep it another 5 years.

Ranger is not affected.
