Hi Fusseli

Okay, based on our development of the Ranger Tremor, the sub required a specific volume of the cavity with a tinny lattitude of plus or minus. What does your sub require vs the volume you created? I hope your volume is within spec.... Otherwise, as we found out on Tremor, we failed quite a few Subs. To little or too much seemed to be the deathnell of the speakers.

I used your idea with the modeling clay and slaming the seat shut, but instead used they chemically reacting packing foam to measure the cavity of the storage bin, the stuff is called Instapak.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sealed-Air-Instapak-Quick-All-Sizes-10-20-30-40-60-80-100-Instapack/133141570169?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&var=432583520445&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

The space is slightly larger than the storage bin itself but around 0.3-0.4 cuft. I need to go submerge this thing in a 5gal bucket to determine the exact volume. This sub says it's good for 0.15 to 0.5 cuft.

I was going to do this for the space behind the rear seat but haven't yet, since I abandoned the idea of trying to build a subwoofer box to fit the complicated shapes it would need.

Here was a picture of the center channel speaker for the 2019 Ranger B&O stereo. Speaker measures 3.0" and the bolt circle/spacing is 4.0". I haven't decided if I will add a tiny cheapest amp I can find to restore the center channel.

MiniDSP 2x4 DSP showed up. Decided I'm going to use this for a 2.1 crossover and PEQ for the fronts + sub. I wish they provided at least a plastic box for the 12V to 5V converter... WTH? Better yet make it internally swappable..?

Maybe it hadn't caught on in car audio all that much yet, but a minidsp 2x4 blows away about any and all "car audio" marketed gear and has a wayyyyy lower price markup.

What did you use to replace the center speaker?

It's disconnected, I would have to add a small amp to use it. Its sound is rerouted by the zen a2b, and the front door speakers are much higher quality, so it's not really necessary anyway

I finished up the wiring finally by adding nylon split loom. Looks much cleaner and provides extra protection. Maybe I'm just grumpier anymore but the flashy looks of car audio gear just annoys me anymore. If I ever do another install I'm going with off the shelf parts and wire by the foot, the kits aren't that great for what they are.

I guess I forgot to post an update. I've been running a 10" sub instead of the 8" that I started with, it has been an enjoyable upgrade and gets the most performance out of the setup for sure.

I got the fiberglass aussie sub box from ebay and put an Alpine SWR-T10 in it. Easy and awesome sub with the X801-5 amp.

Well I hate to say it but the JBL system in my 2017 Tacoma had a better sub. I just bought a 2021 Lariat Tremor and that sub has got to go. Is there enough power from the factory signal amplifier to power a different sub and remove this joke from the system? If not, how about just adding a small amp and the new sub using the signals from the factory system? Wonder where they put the jack and anything else behind the seat when they put in a big subwoofer.

Minimum to add just a sub would be an amp and a DSP restorer. The factory sub signal is digitally filtered and no good for aftermarket.
