Yes im still working on the model A. Car was built 25 years ago and im in the middle/end of the complete restore and upgrades. Hopefully I get to road test my brake system today. I have never restored a mini trail but have done several CT ,SL ,and CRF 70's and a ATC 110 and a Yamaha BW80. Good luck with the 50 they are highly desirable and bring great money. Bret
Would love to see pictures of the restore. I keep an eye out for Honda CT 70s (69-72) and SL 350s (72 or 73) but haven't found any priced reasonable enough or close enough to buy. SL 350 was my mode of transportation for a while back in the day.:)

Gone are the days when you could find an old vintage Honda sitting at the curb for trash pick up. Now all those small bikes bring in several thousands. Bret

That's true. I got this one from my brother in law with a trade for a Springfield XDS. :) Nearly 3K invested. The amazing thing is that parts are readily available for a 48 year old bike. It is common to see ones on ebay in much worse condition than this one was for 2 grand.

I need to haul a whole lot of 2” landscaping rock from my yard. I’m not worried about the weight because I could make multiple trips, but does anyone know if the aluminum bed will hold up to a load of loose rock? I have a Rhino spray-in liner, but still worried about dings...

Hi Gavin,

You have never seen the vehicles from Mexico with between 14 to 16 mattres piled high on an F150 (older Mexico F150 called Lobo) Top mattres probably cleans the bottom of the overpass bridges on the way to the Nogales boarder crossing. I am guessing the folks down there must eat them for breakfast as this is very normal. We either stay way behind these trucks or blow past them as rapidly as possible. Worse are the trucks with refrigerators and washers and dryers piled two high and 5 or six deep.....Angle iron frame extensions abound, most being only tack welded. Traveling I19 is always an adventure southbound to Green Valley out of Tucson...

Same thing here in Texas, usually they are going home to Mexico for Christmas and pile everything and anything into the vehicle for the trip home. Something I see a lot are the cars being towed to Mexico. Usually towing two cars at at time in a convoy of two or three.

Just an FYI, the bed is all steel on our Rangers; only the hood, front fenders, and tailgate are aluminum.

If you manage the amount of rock, you're okay. My rule of thumb is that rock/gravel weighs about 2000lb/yard, so 1/2 yard would be the absolute max. If you have several yards, might be worthwhile to rent a trailer? I rented a large uhaul this spring to do 2 yards of golf-ball size landscape rock, and worked out pretty well, plus didn't have to worry about the bed.

Edit: if you're only concerned about dings, you should be fine since you have a liner. ?

Test fitted the 9'10" inflatable SUP. (Stand Up Paddle board). Just a wee bit of overhang.

Looks like a single tie down through the carry handle on the eyelets at the tailgate would secure it well!

I have a 10'10" inflatable SUP but I have not tried transporting it inflated yet. It would need the tailgate down or a bed extender. Instead I got a valve adapter to use a Schrader valve on the SUP to fill to 15 psi via my Viair compressor I already keep in the truck for off road and emergency. That and a cheap air mattress 12v pump to deflate it, it's not bad to inflate and deflate but definitely not as nice as strapping it on filled.

Exactly re: the eyelets at the gate...
I also have a portable air compressor and valving. For short trips, not freeway, this works but if you are doing long haul then deflate and pack into the bag or fold into the bed. That looks like a beautiful area to paddle at.

From about a month and half ago, mini-me and I building a fire pit in the back corner of our backyard after we got rid of his old playset (hence the dead grass/dirt area where the playset used to be).

Old red doin’ work I won’t subject new red to. Random stuff on top but 90% of this is demo from a tub and shower remodel. She’s sitting pretty low. The rake on her is probably greater than on the new truck.

Wow, I'm on the struggle bus trying to post from a phone lol
