OK, so yesterday I installed an IDrive throttle controller with black face plate.. Was a bit skeptic but almost all reviews were positive. All I can say is wow! With all the different modes, there is something for every reason. Not to mention, tiny compared to ads pictures which makes it easy to mount places without taking a lot of real-estate. It says it may improve mileage besides what it was intended for.

Usual average on my truck is 22.8 mpg. I set this thing to Automatic Control...
(In areas where I could, I used ACC to keep me from using the peddle too much).

Day 1: Yesterday after the install, just went running around a few surrounding towns during a rain storm. , I got 26 mpg!
Day 2: Today got an average of 25.8 mpg.... I ran a few hours up the mountains into Kentucky, along the mountains and back to middle TN on a full tank.... I was very impressed. I don't usually get passed 23 mpg and if I do, it's far and in between....
I can say I'm impressed. I tried all modes and was pleased with their feel for lack of a better word.
If you got the cash, go for it.

Doesn't really call attention to itself like black may, but the chrome looks good when you spot it.

Mat is just loose fit while acclimating to dash/truck

Got some red letters coming for dash and a red/black emblem for steering wheel.

Thanks for the response. Look forward to the evaluation after you get more miles on ‘er.
Well, went on a 400 mile round trip up to mountains and valleys. Got to say that the exhaust is throaty when gassed, but not overly loud and has a nice traveling sound at speeds up to those not allowed by posted limits ;).

Truck carrying 4 adult passengers, cat and 3/4 bed of cargo, pulled grades with ease and speed, going used sport mode and coming back just normal drive. No lag/lug nothing...beat the hell out of my GMC with a 5.3L v8 that's for sure.

Have to consider what I might do next, but (for others) exhaust should be a first mod if you can afford it .

Hellwig firmed up the ride, response was quick and lean was way less than without, I'd say at least a 45% improvement to me. Response is quick. More solid. Ride didn't seem stiffer/jumpy.

Overall, still smilin'.:like:

While changing out my bumper I noticed that the plastic that covered the driver side forward crash bar had scuffed the crash bar and it had rusted. Today I went about correcting that.

So this is what it looked like. Now that it's pretty visible and I'm hesitant to remove it for safety reasons, I had to clean it up.

After a simple wipe-down with spray cleaner:

I then hit it with some sandpaper to get off scalier surface rust.

Then some spray-on rust converter was applied (after a touch more sanding).

I then wiped it down with some solvent and sprayed it matte black. And then it started raining hard 5 minutes later. I really hope it stays covered enough to not get wet while the paint is drying!
