Yes sir...my other build is a 10" 300 ACC blackout?

Nice! I was thinking of doing one of those but I'm trying hard to contain my ammo to just a few calibers. Post some pics once you're done, I guess one more wouldn't hurt.

It has been done...just haven't taken a pic yet LOL...bought a brick of sub sonic while back and only shot a mag through it...don't have a suppressor but that would be amazing when the time comes...being sub cal I didn't really need ear protection...thinking this would be a good truck gun without ear muffs...

Ah crap...just when I thought I have every gun I needed...Ruger comes out with the 57:facepalm:
Oh I have that on my wish list!! Saw the Hickock45 review. Gotta get it soon!! But the Sig SP2022 is my next handgun. Hopefully within the next 4 months. As soon as the .410 Shockwave is reasonable again, I will buy it for the wife. Then she will approve the Sig.

Same here. I got caught the last time back in "08 with a small supply so I made sure to stock up this time.
Dave,, what is the actual amount of ammunition you keep on hand. I'm curious because I have a crapload I don't know if I need that much except for the range. I paid the Target Sports $95 membership and bought enough ammo to cover the membership fee. So now I can buy discount ammunition all year long. When I go to the range I probably go through a couple bricks of 9 mm. I can't believe how much ammo is out of stock and now there are a lot of rifles and pistols out of stock.

I got a question. I want to get a rifle. AR-15 Style. Not necessarily to use for home defense because .223 is going to go through my wall my neighbor down the streets wall and his neighbor's wall so I've been looking at the same rifle in a 22 long. I know someone who thinks the 22 is the kids gun, but for the price of ammunition and they're gone actually being a whole lot less expensive than a .223 I think 22 l r would be fine 4 plinking. Then I happened on some 9 mm AR style rifles. Since I have nothing but 9 mmm I'm happy to look at a 9 mm rifle. Although 222 is pretty much free to shoot ammunition is cheap and plentiful. So I'm leaning toward a 9 mm rifle. What say you experts?

Does it have to be AR style? I have the 10/22 Takedown® Lite w/ a suppressor and 25rd mags. It's small and goes together w/ quarter a turn. For the 9mm, there are other options that take glock 30rd mags in a smaller package than an AR. 10 Affordable 9mm Carbine Options

Tom, I have an AR in both 9mm and .22 and love them! One 9mm is a full size 16" rifle but I haven't built it yet then I have 3 in pistols ranging from a 4" -8" barrel.. The 4" one was just something I bought to play around with and it shoots really good. I have a foam pad over the buffer tube (no brace) which you just use as a cheek rest. The first time I shot it I was expecting a smack in the jaw but It's super smooth and no recoil for such a short barrel. The nice thing is they all take Glock mags so I have a few aftermarket ETS 31 round mags for it.

The .22 rifle is a S&W M&P 15-22 and it's a replica of a regular AR-15 so any parts and accessories will fit it. I love this rifle because like you said it's cheap to shoot and has all the same functions as a regular AR so you still get the same muscle memory training. The barrel is threaded so it's super quiet with a suppressor on it,you could shoot in your yard and no one would notice.

If you are only getting one and have to to chose between the two I personally would get the .22. Same amount of fun as the 9mm but a whole lot cheaper to shoot. I have no problem hitting steel targets at 100 yards with just a red dot on mine. I always bring this along with one of my .22 pistols every time we go out shooting.

How much ammo do I have on hand? Enough that I don't want to mention it on here. lol Once the prices came down I started stocking up every month, you just can't beat the prices at Target Sports and the free shipping. Then there were the Black Friday sales when they had .22's in the Federal Black Packs (1600 rounds per box) along with a $20.00 rebate per box which brought the .22's down to 2.5 cents per round. The only caliber I'm not heavily stocked up on is .223 but I'm hoping this settles down soon and will just pick up a couple cases once they're back in stock at a reasonable price.

Here's the M&P 15-22 I have

A good video as to what's happening with the ammo and guns right now. Spoiler Alert....It's not going to get better anytime soon!

On a side note one of the main gun distributers surveyed their FFLs to to ask people who are buying if they are first time gun buyers and 75-80% were. :like: Great for the industry but bad for the shortages now.

Probably the same ones who thought you could just order one online and have it sent to your house. Or the ones who scream that you don't need that much ammo yet they have 500 rolls of TP. lol

I want to order a "Ghost gun" with 30 caliber clips that fires 30 magazine clips in half a second...Brrrrggggppowwwww :giggle:

Hell, better yet...I'm going get a 3D printer and print me one of these automatic Ghost guns (with all the dressing like 5 pistol grips, barrel shroud, 10 foot bayonet and banana clips in case I get hungry) then it'll be double Ghostly...right after I print some Mac n Cheese, TP, sanitizers, Cheetos...
