Do you mean in the Ford Pass app? You don't have to activate the hot spot. If the app doesn't see it, uninstall and reinstall the app. That should clear it up.

Try and logout of the app and back in. If that doesn't fix it uninstall it and reinstall it. That has resolved it for many others (myself included).

It does that on mine sometimes too. Either that or the tire pressure goes grayed out. As others have said, logging out and then back in can clear it.

OK. I logged out & in no change. I uninstalled/reinstalled the app & lost my 42000 points & it now says I have to have an authorized user to activate my vehicle. The guide says I should have a notice in my messages with a link to click on. I don't have any message with anything like that. What now?

I'm sure you didn't lose your points - those are at Ford and are independent of the app. I'd check your spam folder in your email for a message from Ford with that message. Sounds like something got hosed up.

As much as I hate to say it, you might have to call to figure it out. Your points shouldn't be affected by uninstalling/reinstalling the app - you didn't change email addresses did you? The account is linked to your email. If you changed it that could potentially cause issues.
Anyone else have a different idea? It shouldn't be this hard to implement this kind of a system.

I was having trouble with the location back in early November late October when I bought my truck and I turned on location in the settings menu on my phone and it was fixed but just recently had the same problem and the ford guide had me log off and log back in and location started locating again.
Okay, glad you got it , ya, I also had to change email to the owners site email for the phone app to show my rewards points available.
Wow Man you lemon lawed your 2019 Range? Ford must have reacted rather quickly for you huh?
