Does anyone else NOT like the look of the bright white LED DRL's on the new Ranger Lariat? I understand the function and the safety aspect of having them...but purely for aesthetics, I really wish they were amber, instead of the bright white. Frankly, I would almost prefer to not have them at all, rather than having the bright white. I've done a little bit a research and it appears I'm kinda stuck with them, and at this point, there's no aftermarket option for changing the color. I'm curious to know what other people think about it. Or, even better, if anyone has anyone figured out a solution.

I know on my XLT (with halogens) you can turn off the DRL function completely in the dash menu. I'm not sure if you can do the same with the Lariat. I know some people are very much in favor of DRLs, but I'm just happy there's the option to turn them off. Especially someone in your case who doesn't like them.

If nothing else I'm sure there's a Forscan thing to help too. But I'm not into that kind of stuff to be of any help there.

I am sure you can swap with an XLT owner.

You can turn them off on the Lariat. It was the first thing I did once I got my Ranger home. It's on the left side gauge cluster.

In my Fusion with the LEDs they were coded to the vin, so swapping was not an option.

I realize that I can turn them off, but I want them to always be off. When I start the truck at night, the stupid things are just blazing away, in all of their bright white glory...and I hate it. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if they were amber...but the intensely bright white is terrible. I've contacted a few aftermarket sources, and there doesn't seem to be a solution, at this point. Does anyone know if there's a way to make my amber turn signal the DRL, in place of the bright white? Maybe with Forscan?

FORscan does allow the change. If you have FORscan, you're looking for "dedicated DRL". You can chose a small variety of options. In my XLT, I have just the front turn lamps as DRL, but there is also another code to change to have all park lights as DRL.

The option in the left screen menu allows you to turn off the DRL completely, it's not something you have to constantly set.

Thanks! Once winter goes away, I’ll dig into the Forscan option!
