I was doing it the right way until you told me I was doing it wrong.

It seems to make more sense the wrong way.

I tried both ways. The rubber sticking out is the best way to keep water out. I will continue to close the tailgate before closing the cover.

It seems like both ways seal the water out. I find it easier to latch the cover than close the tailgate but I also leave my bed extender flipped inside the bed so I can store stuff in the back without it flying all over the place.

Finally received half of a Christmas present... Got the rear set of Smartliner floor mats, patiently waiting for the front to get off back order... they said mid February

They fit very nicely and looking forward to getting the front!

Love this truck but the doors swing open very easily and have almost hit a few things with them. To protect the door edges I installed this rubber edging that has an internal metal fitting to secure around the edges vs a tape. Love the look.

Nice! Did the same on my front doors at the beginning of December. Wind caught my door at a gas pump and blew the edge right into a concrete post Also used it to protect the back edge of the hood on my fiance's Edge cause some ice from the wipers was chipping away the paint. I need to order some more and do the back doors now.

How badly did that scratch the paint on your doors when you put it on? If you didn't know, you can actually get a door edge guard that is totally clear, and made of paint protection film. It is very easy to install and you barely even notice it is there.

This didn’t scratch the edge at all. This edge is beefy. Feels like it could Take a lot of pain and still protect the edge. The inside of this product is rubber. Very soft. Tested an area taking it off and putting on to double check it wouldn’t damage edges. Those 3m clear edges are nice but they won’t protect this from my family or friends from being boozed up or stoned from hitting stuff by accident . Cheers.
