Yakima rack on crewcab?

We checked the Yakima website and it stated that our truck is ineligible for the rack. We want to carry wind deflect as we have a trailer behind. Not only that, we have a cargo box for skiing. Did any of you have a Yakima rack on the top of your crewcab? If so, what do we need to buy to make it workable?

Which Rack?

I have an Overhaul HD on my SuperCab and am considering a top rack.

You might check with Nick at Rack and Road in San Jose - he was chatting me up the other day about a top rack with wind deflector and mentioned he has the special parts that make it possible on the Ranger, at least on mine (unsure of part numbers and how special they really are....but Nick seems quite knowledgeable and eager to help).

When in the Yakima site do not select a rack attachment. It then shows the baseline towers needed for my super cab. They're fairly universal so should fit a SCREW. Not in stock when I last looked.

If you have the factory cargo rails there are universal mounts that fit those rails, then attach to whichever Yakima bars you have.

If you don’t have cargo rails they make something like the Q Tower that fits on top of your roof but hooks into the door jam/ top space.

Bottom line is that there is something to fit a rack to whatever your roof is.

My apologies for bumping an old thread, but do you know the spacing that you used on your roof bars? Got some used Q Towers on marketplace and trying to dial in the width for the 5G Ranger.

which measurement are you looking for when you say "spacing"?

Specifically the width of the bar between the towers. I have mine set around 40" but there is a little slipping on longer trips with a load.

Both the SuperCab and Crew use the BC124 fit kit with baseline towers. Spacing between bars is 32"

You can also go the custom install route. Yakima shows at least 2 different Rangers with this kind of install on their website.

Some of the towers, at least, will attach directly to their platform, but you can go with just the basic crossbars if you like.
