But there's always room for improvement! :giggle:?
Improve this? This is what perfection looks like. Ask my wife. No, wait. Never mind..........

Yeah, I don't know about that...you're dead on about the road rage thing. People are getting more stupider every day it seems. But do try 70-72 ish and I think you'll be surprised at how good it does ya.
Here are my mpg results from a road trip from Phoenix to Tucson and back. For reference, my truck is a 2021 XLT SuperCrew FX4 with Tremor tires and wheels and Eibach leveling kit. Estimated 95% of the trip was highway. Typically, cruise set at 70 and if some stretches it was bumped to 72 mph. Note that with the larger tires, my speedometer is off @ 3%. That seems to be close as verified with the iPhone GPS.

Total miles: 255
Fuel used: 12.0 gallons 91 octane

255/12 = 21.25 mpg to compensate for the larger tires 21.25 * 1.03 = 21.9 mpg

trucks computer showed 23.4 mpg

Overall, the mileage was not bad, but not as good as others are reporting on this forum. If the stock Hankooks were still on the truck, it would have done better.

What was the total miles driven and how much gas did you use? That is the only way to really tell the fuel economy.
384 miles round trip.
I wasn't smart enough to remember how much gas I put in at Tucson, nor did I fill up when I got home as I had over a half tank left in both stops...as seen in the pics.
My whole point was to show what the truck can do at a near constant speed of between 65 and 72 mph. The gages on the dash are what they are, and that is Jorma for me when highway driving.
Just banging around here in the Prescott area the mpgs show between 24 and 25.

Chris, if I went off my trucks computer, I would be getting @ 1.25 - 1.5 mpg better than what I am getting in reality. That number will vary between how much highway and city driving I do. Yea, I know I can adjust the computer...I just have never got around to it. Next time you fill up, set the trip odometer and compute your mpg.

I think my biggest issue with my Rangers mpg is the 7 mile commute to work in rush hour. Unfortunately, I cannot avoid stop-and-go traffic. The Ranger drinks gas in that situation.

Jim, you're right short commutes kill the mpg. I can watch mine go down every day when I'm going anywhere under say 10 miles and in stop and go traffic. Also inclines will kill it too. So much you can watch the numbers drop twice as fast as they do when going up. lol Think your trip was pretty average and if you want to dial in the dash reading better you can use this thread. On my '19 I was about 1.5 mpg off and I started at 944. It takes about 6-8 full tanks to get an accurate reading then if still off you can adjust again from there.

It’s been 6 weeks to the day since my accident and we’re heading out soon for a 10:00 am flight to WA to pick up Money Pit 2. Man I miss driving my Ranger and I just hope this one runs as well as the first one did. Good thing I can now start fresh with a new warranty and I’ll have 96K before I have to worry about the transmission going.....?

:inspect: After the inspection we should be in & out fairly quickly since there’s no loan and I don’t need them to go over anything on the truck. I’d bet I know more than they do. Lol I’m hoping to leave there around 2:00 pm and head straight back and I made our first nights stop in La Grange, OR which is roughly 260 miles away. I figure that’ll be a good drive to break it in some and make a few stops along the way. Then the next two days will be about 500 miles each and we should be home late in the day Thursday if all goes well. ? Pics to come of Money Pit 2.
Congrats on the new purchase and on a Tremor to boot, very sweet indeed, 2.7? On your drive home be sure to regulate RPM's to aid in breaking in rings, unless Ford has changed break in protocol. I haven't been on the forum in a while, what happened with the accident? Where you hurt? Newer, post 23 transmissions should have the updated CDF drum, not sure on any valve body changes, you should be good there. My 19's CDF finally gave out at 82K, I was expecting it to which is why I believe in extended warranties. What surprised me was the dealer I go to R&R'd my CDF drum assembly instead of swapping the trans, which I do prefer. Tranny shifts better than it ever did...Good luck to you and safe travels...
Do you follow Flying Wrenches channel? They do a lot of 10R80's and have some good knowledge.

that seems about right. I can make a weeks trip with nothing but my pills and a change of undies and the undies are considered over packing to me
Despite popular beliefs some women are actually very good at packing! Including my wife, she makes me look terrible 🤣

Hey Daniel, this was my Tremor that I picked up right after my 2019 had been totaled. At the time (4/2023) the Raptor wasn't in production yet and the 5Gs were just winding down. I did have my name on 2 dealers lists for one but with the accident I just couldn't wait for one and needed something sooner. Right now it's just not practical for me to buy one and I'll just have to envy those who did for now.
