Just thought I’d throw this out, needed ideas of where to mount the Hilift jack, or is their any aftermarket setup for the ranger! I’ve seen the Tacoma using the bed rail system to mount on. Any ideas and photos would be helpful!

I’ve seen this setup on a few different trucks and jeeps, but nothing on rangers yet. I would have to figure out where to drill holes into the bed, or maybe do a diy bed rail system on the inner side.

This is my setup. Rhino Rack jack mounts on my Yakima bed rack.
Pretty nice, but I was wondering if anyone had a setup on just the bed itself, no racks or roof mounted. I wanted to do a temporary setup, before I get the RTT rack system.

I am working on doing exactly this. I am thinking of mounting it on the side wall because my fishing rack is mounted near the cab side of the bed. I am thinking of using the existing holes covered by the black rubber pieces in the pic. Use a Jeep hood mount bracket system. I figured out how to reach the holes from the back side so mounting the brackets should not be a problem.

Okay let me know how it turns out, hoping to see what you come up with! I’ve been throwing the jack into the bed and just strapping down when I go off-roading for the mean time, probably not the most ingenious way but it’s doing the job sorta!

Mine is currently laying in the bed up against the cab with bungy cords kind of holding it in place.
I ordered the Loc-Rac one for the bed rail. If I don’t like it I will go with the side wall mount. This pic is the Loc-Rac.

I tried the bed rail mount. Not a good option. The jack is too heavy and the rail flexed all over the place. So I mounted it vertical until I get the other mount in so I can mount it on the bed floor near the cab or on the cab wall itself.
It is very stable mounted vertical but I don't like the look of the jack sticking up at the rear. There is not enough room to mount it like that at the cab due to my LED light bar..

OK, the jack has found it's final resting place. Zero wiggle, not rubbing, solid mount. Now getting the nuts on the back side utilizing the factory holes for access took some ingenuity, but I got it done. I was going to mount it on the front wall against the cab, but getting to the nuts on the back would have been about impossible.

So which brackets did you end up using to mount it sideways in the bed like that? How difficult was it to get it secured like that? I like your solution! Very clean for those of us who don’t have a rack.

I used the mount for a Jeep front bumper. See pic. I utilized the factory holes in the bed as an access hole to get the nuts on the bolts. Not too difficult but Tedious and took some ingenuity. I had to tape the nuts in a ratcheting wrench and put the wrench through the hole and guide them on to the bolts.
