The “grinding” is the ABS pump. Unless you hold the TC button until you see “AdvanceTrac Off” on the dash, the stability control is still on.
That suddenly makes sense to me. I took a turn the other day and I heard a horrendous sound. Now I know where I have heard it before, when I ran the ABS purge on ForScan. It did seem to be a little sensitive because I was not slipping or spinning tires. It was a bit of an incline so the maybe the stability control was thinking I was being a little too crazy in my daily drive out of the parking lot.

I can mention that with traction and adv. trac off, in the Tremor with GRabber ATX tires, I was BLOWN away by how easily it spins when accelerating from a green in rain. With all systems on, I would have never guessed that level of spin. So, maybe the truck was planning on a loss of traction based on all the inputs it was getting. Maybe nothing major but preventative response to be safe?

The level of torque the 2.3T can deliver on demand is quite impressive. Combine that with almost no weight on the rear tires and she'll spin them until next Tuesday. The only vehicle I had that was this spin happy as my 2005 Mustang GT. That car was an axe murderer in the rain. Traction control didn't do anything.

So for us FX2 guys can we add TM with forscan?
I know non FX-4 4x4s can, although you do have to purchase the switch. Not sure about the 2wds though.

TM only works in 4 wheel drive, so probably not. Once you engage 2WD you return to "normal"

the nannys can be bothersome when we want to play but, they did save my butt and likely some car damage when i was a bit to right foot happy in the 16 mustang gt i had. went a lil too hot into a right curve in second gear, stayed on the pedal and to my surprise water puddles on the exit. of course the back end stepped out and i tried not to pee myself. faster than i could correct, the nannys pulled power applied some brakes and had me going straight. . i had race red dollar signs flashing before my eyes lol.

Roll stability control, RSC, is the only part of AdvanceTrac that will not turn off with the long press.

The ONLY way to turn off RSC is sand mode. I confirmed this with snowy parking lot play today.
I used normal mode locked rear axles in the snow and I could fishtail and donuts no problem with TC disabled and parking sensor disabled.

Apparently so, I’m just saying my observation from a few days ago or maybe I hit the right combo and don’t remember what I did… hey I’m 65 years old just having fun. I do know I was fishtailing and doing snownuts at the request of my 67 years old wife.. just working the technology seeing what it can do. Really fun stuff and I can see the technology hinder that… I read long press on RSC I never did that just a light press..

So I read this as you’re either saying I’m FOS or there is something else that can be learned IDK..

I did try every combo of functions I could think of and yes I ran into a lot nanny issues. Overall the functionality served their purpose.

But hey you can believe it or not your choice.

Advancetrac is badass. It is very good at straightening and stabilizing the truck.

fun mode is full off on traction with sport enabled. Or sand mode like others suggest.

The only thing I hate about the Ranger is placement of the 12 volt outlets in the center console otherwise a great hit!!!

Sorry for the confusion, was trying to make a quick reply while getting ready for work.

Definitely meant the bolded part.
