Nice! If you don't mind me asking, what finance rate did the dealer offer?
Wasn't great. Ford didn't have any promotional deals going, so I ended up at 3.9%. I'll likely refinance with a credit union soon.

in all my years of new car deals and trade in values, its based on many factors, one of the most important is the dealerships bottom line. i've won on some, lost on others.
they may very well be taking a loss on the trade-in and recouping it on the other side unbeknownst to the buyer. who got shafted and didnt know it.

Interesting question to add to the ones buying now....have prices shot up in conjunction with the used car market and demand as well?? is Ford cashing in on their own inventory reductions?

I browsed my old dealer and it looks like msrp's are up and the discounts aren't really present at the moment. Anyone else see it? or am I out to lunch?
In the Southeast some dealers are not doing much discounting especially on 4x4 Lariats, optioned out 4x4 XLTs, and especially Tremors. I found some of the larger volume dealers are still willing to deal since they profit on volume. With supply shortening every day I'm not sure how long that'll last. As you know electronics, raw materials (mostly metals), and metal fasteners are all impacting manufacturing and it's not improving yet. Spoke to a buddy up in Alberta and he said the dealers are all holding tough on prices.

Thanks! Kinda what I figured. I wouldn't mind looking around, but I can't justify giving up my covid 0%.

Man, I dunno but Vegas market has nowhere near the discounts on FX4 and Tremors. First dealer only had FX4 XLT 302a and some sport 4x4, no budging on MSRP, second was the one with Tremors that just came in this week. Had to negotiate down a $3k markup to $500 on a XLT Tremor 301a w/tech and tow.

The current used prices worked in our favor though. They took in my wife's Escape lease about a year early and with current market prices I only had to pay $1100 in remaining $4000 of payments on that one (had white paint on the lower valance from a careless painter on the fwy too). Over all, happy to get out of the lease and never again.

Dealers are cutting back on discount due to demand vs supply. Double edge Sword .

Nice!! I'm for sure doing it if it's that easy! Thanks!
New member here but I just did this too only I sold Carvana my 2018 Jeep Compass and bought a 2021 Lariat Tremor. Carvana offered $4k more than I owe. Very surprised and impressed with how easy and seemless the process is. Get an offer, upload a few documents and that's basically it. I opted for the pickup option. They're coming to get it Sunday.
