Waze sound/ screen

First I’m not Sync smart but why can I hear waze directions on my radio but not visible on the screen?.i have read a little about car play etc but don’t quit understand. Tks

I could be wrong, but think the 4" screen is just Sync. I think audio is all you get with that system, maybe with a text display. Does it display your app icons?

The 4" screen doesn't support the AppLink or CarPlay/AndroidAuto screen projection modes required to see Waze. That's why you're only getting the audible feedback but nothing visual.
