    @Mokume

    The factory blow-off valve is largely controlled by the truck's ECU. It's comprised of mainly plastic components and comes with a relatively low pressure spring. The light OEM spring and ECU controlled bleed valve are essentially there for emissions purposes and to protect the engine from high boost pressures. If you're going to upgrade the engine's boost/power, upgrading the blow-off valve is a good way to protect the engine and turbos. When you are in boost, the vacuum reference line keeps the blow-off valve closed. Once the throttle is released or you remove your foot from the gas the engine goes into vacuum. The pressure differential between the manifold and intake blow-off valve then force the valve open. This releases the boost pressure whereby protecting your turbo(s).

    So the main rationale to upgrade:
    • Prevent bleeding of boost pressure
    • Made from Billet Aluminium
    • Increased durability and greater strength against fatigue or failure vs OEM
    • Designed to handle increase in boost/power
    • Awesome sound of pressure being released

    While not the only reason, one of the most popular reasons to upgrade is the sound.

    The "awesome sound of pressure being released" is nowadays limited to my visits to the toilet (along with the resulting relief, if I may add).

    Still, your product intrigues me...

    Not sure what to do with that comment, so going to leave it be.

    As far as the TurboSmart BOV goes, it's a very popular addition to the Ranger as well as most turbo'd vehicles. We sell a ton of them for the Ford Raptor as well.

    @sbacpo - Thanks! You responded faster than we could.

    @Josh Hager - Dual Port is definitely the most popular of the two options! We run the dual port on both of our shop Rangers.
