The first record I ever bought was Cathy’s Clown by the Everly Brothers. 45’s were 88¢ at Snyder’s Drugstore; had to plan carefully and be very discerning with a 50¢ a week allowance.
In no particular order, just how they came to mind. Ask me again tomorrow and I’d probably come up with ten more. I like most of the work that each of the artists below have done, not only the ones listed:
Loan Me A Dime- Boz Scaggs
Drag City- Jan & Dean
I get Around- The Beach Boys
Sounds of Silence- Disturbed cover
Light of a Clear Blue Morning- Wailin’ Jennys cover
Lazy- Deep Purple
On the Radio- Donna Summer
The Last Gunfighter Ballad- Guy Clark
Crazy- Patsy Cline
Keep Your Lamps Trimmed And Burning- Hot Tuna cover
I also like classical arrangements and all forms of jazz. My daughters were in both studio and high school dance, so I got more familiar with Techno Rock, Glam Rock and Hip Hop than I really wanted to, but they had tons o' fun. Finally! They grew up... and have daughters who are now in dance. I didn't realize how much I missed it!
