I've been looking at getting a set of the 17" silver STX rims, I think they would look very nice on my Oxford White 2020 Lariat. I'd be putting 265/70R 17 tires on them. More sidewall is the goal.

I currently have the stock Lariat 18" wheels with 265/65/ 18 Micheline tires. Gave me 1/2" more sidewall.

Anyway, I digress. I have looked all around. Some of the wheels have Hankook's already mounted, which is okay with me. I'd wear them out, then put what I wanted on the rims.

My Question is, What's with the big red dot on the Hankook sidewalls???? Can it come off?

Tire manufacturers will put a red and/or yellow dot for tire ballancing purposes. That is why its there. Can it come off? No idea

Figured it might be like on a motorcycle tire ... a mark to line up the valve stem ... but none are close.
