Dont make fun of my welding !!! But I got the bumper bracket on there, good enough to test with anyway , by using threaded pipe I can still adjust things a bit ... If all goes well I may put some of that tread on there, or maybe some rubber ...
Other side I'm gonna switch to square tube and try a hitch step , maybe...

It's VERY solid , jumped right up in there like somebody that's not falling apart at the seams... I may move it in some depending on what I cap it with, but it's about where the factory hitch is , I'll see if I accidentally walk into it the next few days ... Could NOT find any square stock at work that the hitch step would slide inside of ... Methinks 2 flip down steps would be pretty sweet , the one I have now is more "work truck" , which I'm ok with to... Damn , it's nice to get right up in there without moaning , think I'll celebrate!!!

You're going to step on the embodied name of Henry Ford himself. ?‍♂
Don't let the Ford spirits see that, your transmission may never work right again.
Thats what Sid did. So we have nothing to worry about.

The more I drank about it last night the more I was thinking ? I originally didn't want it to look like a step but more like a pipe slider / protector thingy, and that stair tread or mesh will be ouches to my old shins I imagine , it's back to the weld table anyway, got that bracket a little too far back... Next pic will be DUEL rear bumper protectors (that you can step on , if need be) with LED Brake /Running and signal lights!!! Probably not that last part ...

Wait...were you drinking and thinking, or, thinking and drinking ???
If your gonna install brake and running lights, you might as well install some remote control side facing ditch lights that can be swiveled to act as back up lights.
Of course some type of "slider" to avoid contact when going off-road.
And, of course, a Damper !!!!
