2019 Ranger 193,429miles: My sync has been acting up and locking up and having to connect phone after every shut down.
I decided to do master reset, however, when I get to “continue” on master reset, the screen locks up. I’ve tried light resets and shutting down for several minutes. Still locks up at “continue.” Any ideas? Thanks

Try pulling fuse F32 in the fuse panel under the left-hand dash. Make sure that you have the current version of the Sync software 3.4.23188.

Correction: Pull Fuse 31 (BCM-Fuse Panel) - This is the APIM (Sync) Fuse
Pull for 5-Minutes and Reinstall.

Related Fuses: Sync System

Fuse 5 & 28 DSP - (Digital Signal Processing Module) or simply (AMP)
Fuse 9 - TCU - (Telematics Control Unit - Module)
Fuse 12 - FCIM - (Front Control Interface Module) - This is the front panel switches
Fuse 13 - SCCM (Steering Colum Control Module) - This is the steering wheel switch inputs
Fuse 33 - ACM (Audio Control Module) - Radio Head Unit

Noted Fuse 32 above is for the RTM (Radio Transceiver Module)
Yes, if you are not at Sync Version 23188, must update via USB as all prior versions of the Sync are known to be plagued with various issues and there are known issues with the Auto Update not updating to vs 232188 - hence the reason to generate a recall for this issue.
Software glitches sometimes block the update from occurring.

My 2019 Shop manual shows fuse 32 for the Sync APIM.

This is (Incorrect)
as the RTM (Fuse 32) is a 10 Amp fuse
and the APIM (Sync) Fuse 31 is a 15 Amp fuse

C2280H - Pin 9 - (Unused) - it's actually C2280H - Pin 21 feeding the APIM Power to C2283A - Pin 1
C2383A - Pin 1 - Is from fuse #31

Fuse 32: RTM is actually
C2280H - Pin 20 - Feeding Power to RTM - C9026 -Pin 6

Even if you look at the 2019 Owner's Manual - Fuse #32 = RTM

From the owner's manual:

Fuse 31 is not used according to the owner's manual. Fuse 32 is for RTM and Sync (APIM).

IDK why they have the circuit wired differently (diagrams) or even in your owner's manual.
II suggest checking your BCM fuse box to verify which is correct.
If you are correct, then we have (FOUND) a wire change, that has not been noticed or documented before - and with all the (posts) for the Sync Reset (Pull Fuse) nobody has brought it up that Fuse 31 was empty or no reaction (power-off) of the APIM.
Something is (OFF) here and I suspect it's the information you have (both your wiring diagram & owner's manual ref)
The only way to know for sure is a physical check of your BCM-Fuse Box and see what fuses 31 & 32 are actually powering.
Fuse 31 will drop power from the APIM
Fuse 32 will drop power from the RTM, and you will have lost remote FOB functions

All I can say is that the shop manual (2019 Helm) and the owner's manual for the 2019, show fuse F32 as feeding the Sync (APIM) module and the RTM.
