Sync 4 Upgrade?

Have a 2020 lariat, wondering if anyone has upgraded their hardware or software from Ford or any 3rd party to update their system to Sync 4. I love my truck (black appearance package) and would love to put a newer system in, so just looking at options.

I don't think the hardware will work with Sync 4. If it were that simple, Ford would install it on all the new vehicles using the old hardware.

I would say it's possible. I seen some F150 guys were retrofitting Sync 4 into their trucks. Not sure if you need to modify the harness but you would need the APIM and Forscan programming at a minimum.

I did a basic Sync to Sync 3 retrofit in my 2014 Focus but I won't be attempting it on the Ranger since it's a lease
