I have a few questions for those who may be in the know.

I have a 2020 STX with Sync 1, I think that is what it is called. 4" screen with a splay of manual buttons.

First question : does the Sync module control the Ford Pass remote start,WiFi, and hands free calling? Also, is this the apim module (Sync)?

Has anyone had any luck combining Sync 1 with an aftermarket unit?

I have the Ford Wiring manual. I want to keep the above running thru Sync and use the head unit for music and navigation.

Head unit comes with canbus for wheel controls (most likely just the radio controls). The unit is "plug and play" but I doubt it is wired for the Sync unit.

I am decent at harness repinning and layout. I wont need control of the Sync unit from the Android screen but it would be nice (ForScan).

Anyone who has attempted this or has "the Knowledge", please chime in.

I should have the HU next weekend and will not really have any specifics about it until then. I know that Sync 1 is Fords b@stard child for infotainment, but it does have some redeeming features.

If this can be done, I am willing to do the write up with pics, blood and swear words.
