Is it possible to swap FX4 shocks/struts on a 2WD Ranger? Bought a level kit from a guy who just swapped to the Fox system and he threw in the FX4 suspension for free since the level kit was still installed on them.

Only one way to find out but I think it will work.

Agreed, it will work. Will be a much stiffer ride than you have now for sure.

Stiffer in body roll type of way or stiffer feeling over bumps?
All of the above. It will for sure be a tad bit more confident offroad even as a two will drive. I bought the XLT 4x4 Sport and my Step dad bought the XLT FX4 and I can tell his is stiffer than mine. For free I would do the upgrade for sure, but wouldn't go out of my way to pay for the FX4 shocks. When I move up it will be for the ICONS.

All our trucks have the same suspension mounts. No difference in 2wd,4wd, or FX4. Stock suspension is terrible no matter what trim you get. Sure FX4 may be a tad better but not worth the cost to upgrade (install fees) unless you do this yourself.

Buy aftermarket ..... fx4 struts are not worth adding. I did not even bother keeping mine when I installed my Eibachs.

I believe the 2WD and 4WD are the exact same except the 2WD is missing the front drive components.

As said, FX4 shocks are terrible.

I'd rather go with aftermarket.

Bilstein, Eibach, Fox.
