Man I so what a regular cab with a six foot box and make a little race truck out of it.
I had a 2003 Dodge Dakota regular cab with the 4.7L V8. I added a superchip, cold air intake, ceramic headers, the h.o. cams from the Grand Cherokee, Flowmaster super 44 exhaust with 3.5 inch pipes and swapped the 3.55 with a 3.92 limited slip. I got about 9-12 mpg on premium gas but it was one hell of a street demon. They just don't make them like that any more. The Dakotas had 3 V8 options and GM offered the 5.3L in the Colorado. Those were good times.

My recommendation would be to wait for both trucks to get in your local dealership and sit/test drive them before ordering. Don't rush yourself, give yourself enough time to get what you really want. I've also seen prices drop fairly quickly on dealer inventory on new roll outs (before ordered trucks arrive) and you could end up getting the truck cheaper and prior to a factory order arrival. The public is finicky and there is numerous mid-size choices out there, Ford may have a little more competition than some of these dealers are anticipating. As a comparison the new Ram and Silverado are already being discounted. I've seen the 2019 Rams close to 13k off and between 8k and 9k on the 2019 Silverado. The Rangers biggest competitor is the Tacoma which currently has rebates and financing incentives.

Yes but he doesn’t literally have to sit in a new Ranger SuperCab to check it out. He can sit in an access cab Tacoma or Colorado to approximate the experience.

True, but personally I would not order a vehicle that I had not sat in or driven if I was unsure.

Me too. Mine was a 2003 RC Sport with the 4.7 and 5-speed manual. No mods other than a rear locker.

That thing was just stupid fun. Horrible gas mileage because I just couldn't keep my foot out of it. Kinda wish I kept that one.

Lots of good advice here, thank you.

The fact that the B & O sound system was only available in the super crew is what made my decision easy.
My order for a supercab Lariat is supposed to have the B&) system also.

When you need the bed, you will wish for the SCab. When you need the back seat, you will wish for the SCrew.

College age me or maybe retired me would lean towards the SCab. Father me would have to go with the SCrew.

I would have preferred that the supercab used the small jump seats like in the Tacoma Access cab. The bottom seat flips over and lays flat. Great for storage. If I go with the supercab I might just take the rear seats out. I do prefer the extra bed storage.

My Tacoma is over 10 years old. I've probably had less than five backseat passengers on a few short trips over the years.

Its strange that the configurator says B&O is still part of the technology package when selecting a supercab, even though it clearly states Super Crew only.

If you click on the details for the 501a package in the build and price it states B & O supercrew only.
