Super Rich at Heavy Launch....?

Forgive me if this is elementary or ignorant.

I was having a little fun with my brother yesterday. We were sitting at a red light and he was teasing with his Lexus so I gave the nod and we did a little 1/4 mile for kicks. Yes, I know the ramifications of street racing etc etc. And yes, I smoked him!

My dad was in his EcoBoost F-150 behind us and said he had to roll down his windows due to the super rich smell from my takeoff.

I have stock tune, AFE hot & cold pipes, Roush CAI, Pedal Commander set a City +4, and MBRP 3" catback turndown. My question, wouldn't a 'pedal to the metal' takeoff smell super rich anyway.... or do I need to investigate?

my guess would be yes. you just poured a bunch of fuel into the cylinders.
i see alot of people, when they floor it to pass, puke out some black smoke.
nature of the beast as everything tries to do its thing.

with your mods, perhaps you should consider a tune?

Next on my list, for sure! Just deciding which one I'll go with.

It was probably the Lexus.

Normal. Every vehicle smells like that when you punch it.

Not a rich smell like the old school stuff, its more like a catalytic converter sulfur smell if you ask me.

That's what I figured. This is my 1st modern turbo charged vehicle, so

That's what I figured. It always smells normal to me, sometimes a little rich at cold start, but then again I'm never standing behind it when I punch it! Lol.
