I'll check when it's light out again. I see what you mean by yours being off by a degree or two, yours look from the pictures like they are offset inwards as well. I don't suppose rotating the mirrors back like that shifted their position? Zooming my after pictures the driver's side looks fine and maybe from the driver's seat perspective I took the passenger side from might look slightly off. Don't know if a resolution would be a Suma thing or if there is some adjustability in the Ford housing?
Thanks for getting back to me Racket! If yours are fine and mine aren't perhaps this is an XL/XLT issue.

I don't suppose rotating the mirrors back like that shifted their position?
That's one of the first things I checked. My initial reaction to this was that I had done something wrong but it looks crooked when its in the driving position too. I can take some photos from the driver's seat tomorrow morning.

Don't know if a resolution would be a Suma thing or if there is some adjustability in the Ford housing?
Yeah, I'm totally with you on this. I've been exchanging emails already with Suma but I'm also thinking about ways to adjust in the mirror. I stripped the mirror assembly down to the main structure looking for some adjustability but I couldn't see anything that allowed for some alignment or adjustment. There's locating tabs and one-way installation features all over the place.

But I'll be the first to admit I was wrong if someone is aware of a way to adjust the mirrors.

When I installed my mirrors they are a little off like @AlexF. I popped it off and tried putting it back on to get the same result. It bothered me for about 30 seconds, and I honestly forgot about it. I don’t need replacements but just throwing it out there I had the same experience, still recommend the product greatly.

Thanks for chiming in. Glad to hear I’m not alone.

I completely agree with you by the way. Love the product and still recommend it to anyone interested in spite of this.

Quick thought: Suma days they used stock mirrors for the mold, but the Sumas are curved in order to provide the wider view. It wouldn't surprise me if there wound up being some distortion in the shape and the mounting ring on the back could be off alignment.

Well darn it @Suma Performance I got around to looking closely and sure enough the mirrors are cockeyed - driver's clockwise and the passenger's counterclockwise. I wish no one had pointed it out, now I can't un-see it. Look back on page four of this thread for more pictures that explain why this might be happening.

Bummer for a premium item, I hope it can be adjusted but I couldn't just twist it.

I have mixed feelings having started this thread and encouraging people to participate.

I mean, some might think truck owners shouldn't be so picky but we really are a unique forum with some very particular people and the range of mods we do. I have pride in my ride.

The $200+ price point for the perceived benefits are a pain point. I have had mine in use for nearly two weeks with both night and day mostly light to moderate traffic and have come to appreciate the change in the rear view after the initial use.

The actual convex shape I'm going to guess is dictated by the stock size and the ratio that Suma advertises their mirrors over competition.

What it has done for my adjustment is actually had me turn the center point of the mirror down since I don't need more sky in the rear view, and if course turn out as I have always had my mirrors 'correct' in that I don't need to see the side of the truck while driving.

I think this leads to the initial 'disorientation' customers remark about as somewhere in your brain you anticipate objects moving from peripheral vision into the mirror (or vice versa) as you travel and the speed at which that happens isn't intuitive at first.

I got over that quick and backing into parking spaces is easier than before. A bonus for our midsize trucks.

I don't think the BLIS lights are as bright and distinct as the factory ones but they are fine.

What behavior I've really had to change involves the turn signals in the mirrors and I guess this would be true of anyone who bought a luxury vehicle with this feature stock: previously with the BLIS (new to me in this truck) when changing lanes I'd hit the turn signal then check my mirrors for the indicator unless in heavy traffic I still twist my head - but if I do that before looking, the LEDs overwhelm the BLIS lights so I've reversed my behavior - check the mirror first then the turn signal.

The good thing is the wider view might reduce the need to have to reference the high middle rearview and if I have a full bed or high narrow trailer I've improved my safety. Less looking over my shoulder.

I am still enthusiastic about the upgrade and over time I'll likely be happy with them except for the fitment. Maybe that can be resolved in a nondestructive way?

Regardless of the group discount we got - which with the late responses wonder how many there were in total? Going forward maybe @Suma Performance will adjust the mounting ring the small amount?

Ok. Pretty pissed off here. Ordered in June have watched others install their mirrors. Ask about mine and get ignored. Write Suma to cancel and they have the nerve to threaten a 5% cancellation fee? Yeah, well done @Suma Performance

Wow, bad form @Suma Performance - I mean, nearly four months?
Thing is, I actually still would want these but at some point with no response I just want out. I wasn’t upset until they threatened me with the fee. It’s not even a lot but I mean, what kind of scam is that? I could just start promising goods, ignoring people and keeping 5% of every transaction? I gave them money in June, I could have invested that money. I could have accumulated interest on it but now I’m just hoping to get all back. Ehhh, frustrated. They do look nice.

If they came back and said something like 'we re-tooled the mirror for the Rangers due to multiple people reporting the crooked mirror and it held things up, here you go' maybe threw in some of their ceramic spray then maybe it would sort of make up for that. But then you'd have the rest of us feeling like 'damn, I gotta live with cockeyed mirrors.'

How a business handles things that don't go as expected is more important than just getting things done as advertised. The ESP intercooler fiasco - going on since February - is an example of that and it's not actually resolved yet.

Things happen but absence of communication should never be tolerated in a business. Telling a customer that’s been waiting four months for a product they’ll take 5% if they cancel is insulting. Honestly, if at some point in the last month they would have just reached out (or responded to either of my DM’s) I wouldn’t have wrote them to cancel. Buying the truck was easier than this.

After posting here they DM'd you and not following up I'd agree. I was emailing them directly and they stopped responding as well.
