Once I find the right size, I'm looking at snake bite heads.

Update: Just looked at those Screwd fasteners and that looks like an even better option! Thanks @Scottlane1171 =)

David, only problem I can see with those is they have a flat side edge....looks like enough to get a good purchase with a pair of vice grip pliers.

Looks like a job for a Trunk Monkey! Or a hungry alligator left inside the covered bed ?.

Mine got busted by some idiot so I epoxied the crack for now, I will buy a used on from an online junk yard, not about to spring for a new one at the going rates.
I love the trunk monkey

Darn it, you're right! Bah!

I was reading some other posts of folks either using epoxy or solder to fill in their screw heads and painting to deter.

But I suppose fastening some bit of heavy gauge sheet metal or thin stock to the inner workings of the tail gate handle to slow down that screwdriver-popping-the-tailgate-open trick may be a better option.

But ... I also imagine that if someone's trying to steal these and gets frustrated, they may do more damage out of spite if they can't walk away with the lights. =(

I guess the only real solution, and thank goodness I have a tonneau cover, is to hire this guy:

Maybe the sticker will deter most:

I was gonna say the same thing
I just wonder if the pressure of the rivet would break the plastic... I haven't looked at the taillight in a long time so not sure if this would work. Probably need a washer since you'll need a fairly thin rivet.

I'm in a rural area where the " Punisher " gives would be thieves a heads up , to what kind of owner their messing with...
It's the city equivalent to "Protected by ADT " /" Beware of Dog " / You loot I shoot

And, as @Grumpaw has suggested in the past, any new screw needs a washer. I wonder if a big fender washer would stop them from just breaking the light off? Seems like that would reduce the value (I have no clue about fencing stolen stuff, just what I've learned from the Rockford Files!). =D

I suspect it was a small body shop that placed an “order”.

probably not too far off with that thought.
there's so many shady body shops out there, be real easy to charge full price to the insurance company and save a few bucks having a "friend" pick them up from the "courier"
