Hello all, posting this as I looked around in the forums and couldn't seem to find anything about this topic. I have a '23 Ford Ranger XLT and I am experiencing some intermittent issues with my steering wheel controls losing function or shutting off during use of the cruise control and am curious if any of y'all have had this same problem.

So are you having issues with only the CC switches or the complete LH Switch assembly and unable to scroll through the menu screens?

As a CC issue would deactivate switch inputs on the CC switches but not the compete assembly.

You might scan for DTC codes to see if any issues have stored a code.

Both left and right, issue switches sides depending on the day it seems. Latest time was a 4 hour trip where I was driving through rain with the CC set to 80 and when I hit the wipers to engage them CC stopped working until I stopped and shut the truck off for about 10 minutes. Issue does not always happen and doesn't seem to be a weather type of thing but I am curious if there is a problem within the wheel or communication for the switches.

For Reference:
Fuse 13 (BCM) - Powers the Steering Colum Control Module (SCCM) - IPC & Gateway Module
Both switches are powered via the SCCM
Do you have anything aftermarket tapped off the backside of the (GWM)? a popular spot for a T-Harness - that could be shorting the circuit or drawing extra power?

Since both switches are affected - I think it's a power or ground issue feeding the SCCM.
Power & Ground and CAN Bus are direct feed into the SCCM and all switch inputs must pass through the Clock-Spring first.

So, it may be a simple (reseat) of the SCCM connector may resolve the issue.
The SCCM is the module that the (Left & Right) stalks are on and its mounted just behind the clock-spring.

I would see if you have any codes in the SCCM

Great information, I will give this a look to see if a reseat can resolve this issue as I do not have anything aftermarket on my truck. I do have a scanner that will check all the modules and display the codes but just haven't done so yet.

I would start with a code scan. Use a scanner that can read all the modules as some only read powertrain codes.
