Speaker Recommendations Replace stock Speakers???

Any recommendations on replacing the main 4 speakers in the doors without having to do any modifications to the doors? What did you use and did you add an external amplifier?

Look up powerbass. They make a replacement and they use the factory plugs

The kicker key looks like a good upgrade I have seen people do. Its on my list of things to do. Apparently it makes the stock speakers sound better but you have to make some changes in forscan to reap the full benefits.

Have you checked Crutchfield? They are a good source of info.

I put Hertz components in my front doors an I like the quality. Not necessarily louder, but you can turn them up more before they distort. Check the sensitivity rating when comparing speakers. The higher the number the more sound they put out at a designated power level. Good speakers generally have 92/93 ratings. I've seen the "direct replacement" speakers rated at 87. I bet you will be disappointed with those.

I have a pair of Rockford Fosgate 3 ways I bought for an old jeep an never installed. I'm going to throw them in the back doors eventually. Since I have a supercab it looks like a PIA.
