So I'm not totally sure I'm in the right place, and I do apologize if that's the case...
I'm looking to begin making tweaks to my 2019 Ranger FX4. Nothing too crazy as budget might be pretty tight on this one. Keeping it simple.. hence, Simple Jack (yes, I'm thinking of Ben Stiller in Tropic Thunder). For well over a year I've periodically checked in, reading different modifications people have made, and what trouble spots people have hit.
The real objective of this truck is for it to be capable of towing a bit (no where near the 7,500 pound limit), without running the risk of damaging any components.
So here's what I'm thinking, but with some questions for everyone who might be able to answer them:
I think this list represents a pretty low key, simple build for the Ranger to set it up for success and reliability with future towing. The Falken Wildpeaks are really the only aesthetic item (for now).
General question: if I'm keeping the stock 17 inch wheels, would I need a wheel spacer or something with the tires I'm planning on getting?
The truck/build may evolve in the years ahead, but I like this simple initial approach. I just want to be sure I'm not introducing any unnecessary risk to the overall reliability of the truck. I'm curious to hear thoughts/suggestions on this so... feel free to tell me how awful of an idea this might be.. or how it may be the most okayest thing possible. Whatever it may be, I've enjoyed looking at the other build threads here. Loooots of good info.

- Keeping the somewhat lame stock FX4 17 inch wheels
- Falken Wildpeaks 275/70/17 tires
- I've seen some of the transmission threads (yikes), am I hurting the transmission running larger heavier tires?
- If I were to get a 5th tire to serve as a spare, does anyone know if it'll fit underneath the truck in the usual spare spot?
- FOX 2.0 Coilover package that includes fronts and rear suspension upgrades (the stock FX4 suspension is rough)
- Upgraded rear diff cover to help it stay cool
- Aluminum transmission deep pan
- Some kind of a trailer brake controller
- AYBE the FPP Tune or the Livernois Tune
- I think the FPP Tune comes with the K&N Engine Air Filter and I don't want that thing.. can I just continue to run Wix filters with the Livernois?
