Greetings, I just traded in my wrangler and bought 2019 xlt from my local dealership. Stoked so far, so much FASTER! It has relatively low miles at 34k, but I’m curious if I should get the powertrain warranty or not? I’ve seen horror stories and glory stories.

I’m about two weeks into a blue certified used 3 month warranty, which already came in clutch to fix the cruise control, trying to decide before that’s up.

thanks!

Something to keep in mind with the Ford Extended Warranty that is offered for your vehicle(this also applies to any Extended Warranty offered by any Auto Manufacturer) is that the warranty goes off of the original purchase date of the vehicle. Because the truck is a 2019, it could have been sold in 2018, 2019 or even 2020 brand new to the first owner. That is something to look into.

Why am I saying this? Because if you get a extended warranty that is 60 months, that is only 5 years from the original purchase date of the vehicle and you would be waisting your money. Make sure you read the fine print to cover your ass.

Flood Ford, Zeigler Ford, and Granger Ford, all sell Ford ESP's at good prices. If you can buy one, it isn't a bad spend if you plan on keeping the truck for a while.

You are lucky that you don't live in California, here your only option is to go to the dealer to purchase an extended warrantee, and it isn't going to be cheap!

In his case, since the OEM warranty is up, he will have to get a used vehicle warranty from the dealer, Granger or 3rd party. The used vehicle warranty starts when it is purchased but cost a bit more than a new car warranty.

Looks like granger recently changed their terms to 2020 or newer . . . Is that true with most of these used warranties!?

It would be in your best interest to get a hold of the individuals over at Grainger. Their staff will have the answers you're looking for. You might not like the answers but they will have the answers
