i hate to say this. i will start by saying i really like my 5g. but, i cant say i would recommend buying a 5 ranger to anyone... I would not buy another one at this point. My blend door is clicking now and after factory defective brakes, shocks, wire harness, transmission problems - that are on going, and ford dealers all but leaning me over and giving me the Ned Beatty treatment - im kinda out of love for the 5g trucks. They have a lot going for them and could have been truly great. but just enough has gone wrong with mine that im pissed at it. the rose color glasses are off. almost weekly someone in here is discussing a fix or trick to work around or address some issue that ford dropped the ball on. like water in the plugs / engine cover issues. its clown shoes. thats the stuff we should be discussing when the trucks are ten years or more old or have over 100k on them. most of us dont have that many miles. I know sid and couple others do. i could let it all slide if ford dealers didnt try to rip me off or lie to my face when i go in for things that should be simple warranty issues. David, I would advise you not purchase a 5g ranger. When i got mine i was very influenced by the older rangers like the 3g and 4g, those are tough long lasting lil trucks. I was also under the impression that the 5g being only "new" to the states but in production several years overseas that whatever new issues or gremlins a new model came with were likely solved, no longer an issue. Well, I was wrong.
