I’ve started noticing when shifting from park to drive to reverse or shifting to anything in between its like a grinding noise and a squealing sound form where I think the transmission to the dive shaft is (I’m not a mechanic and I don’t know much about vehicles) does anyone know what this is and provide more insight. Attached is a video of the issue it’s kinda hard to hear what I’m talking about but it’s the best I can do .
Video is too big so I have to share a link to it

Hi Norman,

I am not able to hear well with these hearing aids, but what I hear is not normal. Is your vehicle still under warranty? If so, a dealer visit is likely what you need. If not...hopefully some with better hearing will recognize the sound and help diagnose this. There visually seems to be quite a bit of play between the rear axle companion flange and the driveshaft. was the vehicle on pavement/cement or up in the air?

Best,
Phil

I'll second Phil on the suggestion to get it checked out.

I couldn't hear anything unusual in your video, but that doesn't mean much. Mine makes quite a few very high frequency type solenoid noises when selecting a gear initially and also when it shifts gears going down the road. In my case, I've driven another Rangers of the same year and it made the same noises mine made.

If it is a new noise to you, go ahead and get it checked.
