I've got a black truck with a black appearance package crying for a black exhaust tip as the black coup de grace.

Any recommendations are welcome. I've been browsing Amazon and found plenty for $30-50. I've become wary of fake and low quality products from Amazon, however. I'm always willing to spend a little more if I feel like I'm definitely getting a [genuine] quality product. I've come to the point in my internet searches that I think it's time to ask here.

In a perfect world, the exhaust tip would be black chrome/stainless tip or something similar, but a good powder coated exhaust tip would be just fine, too. I mainly just want something that is quality that doesn't deteriorate.

I also would prefer a double walled exhaust tip, but I'm not tied to that requirement either.

P.s., we have a 3" inlet size, right?

I installed a black tip on my Jeep (black Jeep with dark grey hard top/fenders) and it looked amazing. It was powder coated, and after a while started chipping. It was chipped and rusted in about a year. The position directly behind the tire on the Ranger would cause it to chip even more I believe. I changed to a Gibson Elite tip and it held up very well until I sold the vehicle.

My advice, don't get a powder coated one.

Thanks. That’s very helpful.

Hi Temp black paint on your stock tip? What I plan on doing until I replace whole exhaust.
That's a pretty good idea, actually, at least as a little fun stop gap project.

I don't have one on my ranger, I just painted the exhaust pipe black with high heat paint. I do, however, have them on my mustang. I just scuffed em up good and used high heat paint on them. They have held up just fine. Full disclosure: I don't drive the mustang in the winter salt. Summer miles only.

Edit: yes inlet is 3 inch
