I've been looking for an inexpensive roof rack system to fit my Ranger. Another member on here @Ranger305 turned me on to the G3 but I can't seem to find them in stock and they don't offer in black. I won't be hauling anything heavier than a kayak or 2. Looking for maybe a clamp on so I can remove when not in use. Would also like to stay around 300 dollars. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

$300? Man, did you ever ask the wrong group!

Seriously, I think you might be able to do it if you stay away from all the big brands. At the same time, you get what you pay for so don’t go too cheap. Hundred for legs, hundred for crossbars, hundred for kayak mounts - tight, but maybe.

How about a T Bar off the trailer hitch. Roof rack on Cab. It has to be at least a 12' Kayak. I put my 12'6" SUP on this way.

This is exactly why I built my own rack system and when possible build my own components for said rack system.

The markup on off-road products is astronomical.

If my system was made by a professional company you'd probably be looking at $5,000+

Granted if a company made it the fit and finish would be superior, but from a raw materials/design cost standpoint it would not be offered cheap based on trends for similar products.

If I eliminate duplicate materials from the learn as I went approach, I am probably around $2,000 into my system; ten feet long, grated walking platform, lighting/wiring/electrical, and my version of leitner designs storage pods.
