Hey all,
I’m currently driving a 2021 XL 4x4 Ranger (no lift, no level… got the tailgate damper tho
) and have been thinking it’s about time I replace those dang stock steelies (while keeping the same tires for now, since I like them).
current wheels: 16”x7”, 55mm offset.
Stock tires that I’m keeping: 255/70R16
in my best efforts to remain as close to stock specs as possible, I am going for a 16”x8” wheel. I’m trying to stay as close to 55mm offset as possible, but the favorite wheel I found has a 25mm offset.
I am mainly concerned about the offset. Since I am not upsizing the tire (just a wheel width increase of 1” - which shouldn’t affect crash bar rubbing…) would you all anticipate that an offset decrease of 30mm vs. stock would affect tire rub against crash bar , or any other noticeable issues? I know this is a bigger issue with people looking to get bigger tires but what about with stock tire size?
would an alternate option with 35mm offset be a significantly safer choice?
Thank you guys a ton for your time
