looks like there are lots of "Shock" posts here, but I did not see any that addressed my question., so sorry if this is redundant.
Basically looking to replace the rear factory shocks to get rid of the horrible ride , not looking for added lift or travel, i was not sure if having the Tow/Haul package meant i needed different shocks than trucks with out it. It does not seem that way based on the info i find at the Shock websites?

Any info is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Shocks are the same regardless of the towing package. Pretty much any aftermarket rear shock will fix your issue. I have Fox 2.0's on mine and it drastically improved the ride. But many guys on here have seen similar improvements going with Eibach, Bilstein, etc...

I have a 2wd Ranger that swayed side to side as well. I replaced the rear shocks with Rough Country N3 shocks & could feel the difference right away. MUCH better ride with minimal sway. They were about $100. I bought them for a temporary fix, but like them so much that I'll buy them again when the time comes to replace. 10k miles so far and all is great.

I went with the Fox 2.0 rear shocks and it improved the suspension handling. I have a 4X4 but I think any upgraded rear shock will be an improvement.

A happy retired guy
Put Bilstein 4600s on rear of my rwd stx Supercab . Ride is now perfect ,no sway , firm like my buddy's F 150 . No more sea sick on fast 90 degree turns , thank you .. Only $ 75 each at Summit Racing . Best Ranger upgrade yet and I love them .. Way better than the damper addition . Of course it is not a 4wd but feeling no squat anymore . The factory shocks could have been compressed with my little finger ; sad .

I have Fox 2.0s on the rear only. If you still go off-roading, or drive on rough dirt forest roads, I think the Fox's are great. They blend with the stock front FX4 shocks well enough. The Fox 2.0s tend to be on the softer side, but still composed.

I bought mine from Stage3. Quick shipping, no problems.
