Can you drill a hole in the skid to access the drain plug?

The drain is beyond drilling, it’s massive, 50mm in diameter. On my project I’ve cut out a square with the angle grinder. At least I do not have the proper tool for the job on 5mm mild steel.

@onobeka Ill crawl under there this weekend and shine a flashlight to see if I can tell, need to check the bolts any ways to make sure they are still torqued properly. Only downside I see with my setup is there is no provision for accessing the drain plug.
Thank you, I made progress today. I’ve decided it has to sit flush against the bottom of the axle, as that is also a jacking point. It’s stronger that way anyway, yet rust will be an issue no matter the prep and rust protection on both faces!
