Back in my LEO days, I had 2 occasions of stopping a civilian with red and blue lights mounted on front and back of vehicles, and in use. One claimed he was a private security guard and vehicle was his employers...he was lying. Both got arrested for impersonating a PO, vehicles were impounded.
Both found guilty and vehicles were NEVER returned.....:like:
I was just kidding about getting LE lights. Someone would need to be supremely stupid to think they could get away with flashing a red/blue "Bat Signal" that automatically attracts every passing cop like a bug zapper...

What was their escape plan ? To throw a box of donuts in the air and RUN ?

Was it a forum member that was making those dual fog brackets? Forgot where I saw them.

I have the Squadron Sports in the lower grill. Will put the pair I have for ditch lights but what bugs me is they have the round trim as they were fogs on our old Pilot.

If the mix n match look bugs me enough I might try the Auxbeam 2 LED pods that are similar to the Baja Design S2 Sport. I would prefer to stick with Baja Design but $240 for the S2 Sport I might as well get the 4 LED Squadron Sport but since their customer support never responded to me (twice), I don't want to give them any more of my money.

I am hoping the round design will look ok on the ditch light position. You can see what I mean at their page, square and round ones

https://www.bajadesigns.com/squadron-sport-led-light/
The Auxbeam's are really well built. They have plenty of cheap lights that are average at best. That's why I trashed my dual pod setup on the hood and went with the more powerful single lights. The 3" pods look durable. I'm really pleased with how solid they are.

This was back in the 70's....before everyone had phones, camera's, recorders, and if you had a good rapport with the courts and judges, your word was respected. Judges back then didn't take any crap from defendants and came down hard. They took impersonating a PO very seriously.....

Oh well, 70s was a whole another universe...we kids get pulled over with a six pack and the worst part was being made to pour it all out onto the pavement..."have a nice day and don't let me catch you again"...when we got home, it's beer and lawn darts...

I think in AZ for example security guards really can use Red and Blue LED, but I believe it is limited to security guards, not civilians. We got a trade in or two at the dealer with those LED combinations in the early 2000's.

I ran it by chatgpt and it seems to be the case but it didn't list the states that can do that. I didn't know that blue only and red (front) only still mean something too.

Nope....thru dispatch...request call mommy and daddy to pick kiddies up. Common back them....no need to arrest juvies for something that I did when I was a kid.
Note....got my first "banana" phone in 1983 when I went to homicide...couldn't transmit everything over the air !!!

Thank God I grew up in the 70's & 80's !

Local small town cops gave me more breaks than I deserved. Including a free pass from a high speed pursuit. My buddy (F'ing idiot) thought he could outrun the Magnolia Police. I talked him into shutting it down before we got Pitted. And the cop let us walk.... right into a slew of ass whoppings by our parents.

But I get it,,, cops can't trust patents to be parents any longer.

Hey,

Just like our lenses, you can also swap to the regular bezel if you do not like the round look. I'll be more than happy to assist you in getting those swapped out. We appreciate the feedback and apologize for the inconvenience when reaching out to us. I'm not sure exactly what went wrong when you reached out to us, but I'll have my customer service manager look further into the situation. Just sent you a PM to get you taken care of and to get additional info as well. If anyone is ever in need of any assistance, you can always reach out to me directly via the forum or at my email at [email protected].

Best,

What can I say. @TDFO17 and Sid @Msfitoy both of your trucks are what convinced me to up the number of off road lights for my truck from just two in the front bumper and then I thought I about it for about 30 seconds and decided to order a pair of ditch lights as well. That and after watching the BAJA 1000 on Racer TV over the weekend and saw the benefits of the ditch lights while those trucks were blasting 100+ mph through the desert. Just waiting patiently for the new grill and off road lights to arrive at Lone Star Conversions and be installed.
