I am just about finished with the install of the Lumen (OEM) lights. The drilling is not too bad as it's very think sheet metal. I used a good punch, so the bit did not wander once and I knew I was hitting the center of the hole.
The template for the two rear lights is really quite terrible. It does not match up with any of the contours. Also, the rivnuts are a pain and it made sense to spend the money on a tool. There is too much play with a socket.
Wiring was not too bad at all. The length is perfect for a crew cab, so I suggest leaving all of the zip ties loose until the wire is run to the battery. It's an extra step, but you want to have enough wire.
I sprayed bedliner from a rattle can over the drilled holes and it matched perfectly with the dealer spray.
All in all, I thought it was easier than the trailer brake controller install. It took me a couple of hours, but I really took my time to make sure the holes were drilled correctly.
