Well, looks like after 2 weeks of waiting, Amazon has sent me the wrong thing... They sent me a set of snowboard clamp racks... Not even close to what I ordered, and not even close to valuing the price I paid. So it goes back on the delivery truck tomorrow for return. What a waste of time and precious resources....I order this set a couple weeks ago, should be arriving today (hopefully installing tomorrow). I was originally going to get the factory Thule bars on my Leer topper when I ordered it. But after a quick internet search I found this full set (tracks, towers, and bars) for much cheaper, and it fit my needs better (longer bars and the aero shape). The price has gone up on it quite a bit since I found it, but I lucked out and was able to get a "like new" return for almost half price. Even at this full price though it's still cheaper than the factory install. All I have to do is install the tracks myself by drilling a few holes in the roof, not a big deal at all.

Sorry to hear this news. Hopefully you’ll be able to get what you really ordered installed on your topper soon. I have experienced an improvement with Amazon’s delivery time as of late, so maybe you got the tail end of the slowness before it picked back up. Needless to say I won't be installing a rack on my topper tomorrow, or anytime in the next few weeks at the rate deliveries are going.
Nice work! I don’t trust myself enough with drilling holes in a truck. Looks good!Received my set of Yakima pads and towers today. Installed them this afternoon. Hardest part was double and triple checking the location of each pad. Otherwise pretty easy to mark and drill the holes and install the pads.
Went with pads instead of tracks because we figured we'd never want/have to move the bars fore/aft ever, so why pay extra for something we'll never use. Matched the spacing to the roof rack we have on our camper to make it easier to move various racks back and forth without adjusting.
Decided to throw my roof cage on top just to see how it looks.
I was fine drilling through the fiberglass. That was no big deal. I'd be much more hesitant if I had to drill through the metal of the truck.Nice work! I don’t trust myself enough with drilling holes in a truck. Looks good!
DudeFinally got the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform installed. I’m happy with the rack itself, I was just hoping the rails would sit a little lower.
I plan to carry the Darche Dirty Dee 1100 Swag with a complete set of Maxtrax for beach camping on the rack. Occasionally I’ll throw an SUP up there but I’ll need some front rails to tie it down more securely.
I also plan to install the Rhino Rack 270 awning, which the added height of the rails might end up becoming a benefit to me down the road.
Maybe it’ll look better once everything is all loaded up.
My ARE topper is on the way and just ordered a leaving kit. I'm new to the game here. Your tire set up is money. What size tires are those? I'm wandering if I can jump up to BF Goodrich 275/70r17?Dude
