Hi Folks,

Not mine but I do most of the work on my buddy's 1965 Chrysler Newport. It was his grandmother's car and was parked in a barn in Iowa for about 28 years. We had to pull it off the haulaway with 4 rotted tires. A real POS to begin with. This is where I told him to be careful as left 14" wheels had left hand lug nuts. After new tires, I got it running but the Stromberg two barrel 383 V8 needed a rebuild. Buddy found NOS rebuild kit on line. Did not fix the flooding though. Fruther research showed that there is a Manufacturing Plug at the bottom of the float bowl that is notorious for leaking. Yep..new plug and it fixed it. Then to tackle the brakes which were shot... He got the first drive, but being vision impaired, I do most of the driving...I thought the trans would need rebuild, but fluid was nice and red and has continued to work just fine... Don't have actual pix of the car as the pix are on my old phone which does not work due to swollen battery but here is a pix of this old boat from a sales pamphlet.

Only thing I would get to replace it would be another early Rabbit, like 1977-1978 like I used to have ?
