I just had the same thing happen. Did you get your truck figured out?
Not really. But coming back from Moab in May was the last time it has happened. Several times up those same hills since and no problems.

Do you have factory tow package? What brake controller?

I don't have the tow package. I was accelerating to get on the highway and right at 75mph the transmission bucked and went into limp mode. I got the message pre collision assist not available and see owners manual along with the wrench icon. Also had reduced engine power. I scanned it and found the PCM had a pending code "P0068 - MAP/MAF throttle position correlation".
The instrument panel had code "U0401 - invalid data received from ECM/PCM" from the same time.
I cleared the codes and it's fine now. I'm not sure if it was just a glitch or maybe the throttle body is going bad.

Interesting. Something to keep in mind. It has only happened to me while towing up a steep grade.

I had my truck freak out while hauling an old gm squarebody over the winter. Wrench icon, no pre collision, no TC, SC, or ABS. As soon as the square came off the trailer all was well again.

I blamed it on the ranger being super nose-high.

Hauled a heavier squarebody a few months after that with the same trailer and didn't have any issues though ?‍♀

I have this same issue climbing steep mountains. Not towing, but lifted and in 35s. I am guessing its related to the camera. I am going to attempt to recalibrate through forscan and see if that helps.
