2019 Lariat - my passenger side mirror will no longer fold when I press the button. All other aspects of the mirror work; I can adjust mirror with the controls, the light inside the mirror lights when a car is close and the turn signal indicator works. But for some reason it just stopped folding when I press the button. Any ideas? Help is appreciate.

No sure if it would work but have you tried folding both in and use the button to send them back out to see if it will reset ?

I would try - suggested above - manually move it and then hit the switch, if no help check for voltage at the mirror connector (While pressing the switch) normally press and release

Pins 8 & 9 are the power and ground - polarity reverses (Normal & Stow)
So Pin 8 is power and Pin 9 is ground - then when you hit the switch again
Pin 9 becomes power and Pin 8 becomes ground.

Pin #8 = Resume (Normal) - Positive
Pin #9 = Collapse (Stow / Folded) - Positive
Polarity Reverses (Pin to Pin) depending on direction the motor is moving

If you have power and ground - its the mirror motor, if not a deeper dive into the wiring to find the bad connection for those pins

For Ref: C212 and C238 feeds the Folding Mirror (Power & Ground)

C212 feeds pin 8 and C238 feeds pin 9 on the C601 mirror connector

So you could try reseating these as well

Its not the switch but there is a splice between the switch and those 2 connectors C212 & C238

I have a hunch manually moving the mirror may bring it back in sync with the switch, somebody walked by the truck in a parking lot and bumped the mirror (most likely)

Here is the electrical diagram for the folding mirror motors.

Don’t mean to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if the Ranger (mine is a 2021 Larait Tremor) can be reprogrammed so the mirrors automatically fold when you either turn it off or lock the doors? I have a hunch this is possible, since one day I locked the truck with the mirrors out & when I started the engine the mirrors folded themselves!

I’m used to my wife’s BMW (also 2021), where car settings lets you choose auto fold or manual fold, and they fold when you lock the car, very convenient. Right now I’m having to retrain myself to fold the mirrors before stopping the engine.

No , there is a module you can add though, if it did it in the past you must have hit the switch. If you carefully feel the switch you can feel the depression and normal positions of the switch

The 5G Rangers do not have the door modules required to control the mirrors or power windows. There are two companies, that make aftermarket modules, both are from Australia. One is Redtec and the other is Trac Electronics. Make sure you you get a module designed to work with US or North American trucks. I have a Trac Electronics module that allows me to control the windows with my remote and automatically closes the when locking the truck. I didn’t want the power fold feature as I was worried about folding in the winter.

I used to seldom fold my mirrors. Then sometimes my passenger mirror would get "lazy" and barely fold/open. Now I fold/open whenever I leave the garage which seems to keep it happy. Folding is also less chance of whacking it on the garage door frame.

Are there lube joints that need attention ?

Tried, no bueno
Then to isolate mirror motor or wiring issue, it needs a voltage check on the connector.
Its most likely the mirror motor but needs verified before spending the money on a new / used mirror it hopefully only needs a connector (reseat)
